John Nuegent of Neuvation wheels/bikes/etc. has decided to add a daily comic strip to his website to get free traffic. You may remember him as the subject of the creepiest home movies ever made. Keep the laughs coming, John.

2009 Fuji Track Pro for sale
I'm selling this for a team member. This is just a stock photo. It's a 54cm. Perfect condition. Seatmast not even trimmed. Only thing that is not stock is a nicer saddle. It has different rims than on Fuji's site - Novatec labeled super-deep black alloy rims. Deda Pista bar, FSA carbon track cranks. It's a great race bike. $1000. Email me at njs(at)keirinculture.com if interested. I can ship it.

new funkier bike website
Check out Funkier Bike's new custom cycling gear website. Funkier is a partner of the Kazane Racing grassroots team. Check it out. Do your custom order through them. The prices are insane. The quality is awesome, turnaround is quick, and customer service is the best. This is the ultimate deal for a big team or shop because an order of 500 jerseys gets you down to under $15 a piece. If you email them please mention Kazane because it helps the boys out.

nice article
Check out this article on rvanews.com about Richmond's new nonprofit bike and books shop.
update on my controversial post
Ok, so Leader is only undercutting their dealer by $30 because their frame for $350 doesn't include fork. My point is that you can't be an ebay discount bike company and sell in good shops too.
that's loyalty right there
sorry I've been mia on the blog. got hit with the sickness at a pretty busy point.
As, hn reported, Leader has a booth at Interbike. Strange since Interbike is a show for brands that sell through retailers rather than their direct ebay store. Well, I'm happy to say that Leader has picked up it's first re-seller and they've started off with a bang. Chari is now carrying Leader frames and Leader has rewarded them by undercutting Chari by almost $200.
I think Leader is sending a clear message to potential dealers.

Marian College once again won the collegiate track omnium, this time on Kazane KZ1 and KZ2 cranksets.

Dear Competitive Cyclist,
I don't care how much you sell your handbuilt wheels for. Please note, however, that the word "pro" is short for the word "professional," and therefore should not be in all caps. Your description reads like a teabagger's letter to the editor.
Thank you.
Thank you.
Barlevav wins big in Vegas
Erik Barlevav won the final race of the USA Crits series in front of a huge crowd in Las Vegas last night. Read about it here. In addition to that, Mark Hekman took home the overall USA Crits title and the team won the team title. It's been a great year for Team Mountain Khakis and Kazane Bikes.

I'm glad these guys aren't in charge anymore
From John Boehner and Eric Cantor's letter to the President. It contains this and other great ways to save money:
Terminate Federal Transportation Funding For “Non-Motorized” Transportation Projects
The Federal government is currently spending $25 million a year to fund four Non-motorized Transportation Pilot programs. This program is designed to fund a network of “non-motorized transportation infrastructure facilities” to encourage residents to walk or bike rather than using a car. Refocusing Federal resources on transportation projects with a federal nexus would save taxpayers $125 million over five years.

Here's a great post about the frame displays at the new No Brakes shop. It's great to see a Kazane front and center, but the point is that this is the best frame display I've ever seen. I can't wait to come check out the new shop.

News flash - Cannondale gets a new family member!
So Dorel just bought Ironhorse That gives Dorel the impressive lineup of Cannondale, GT, Mongoose and Schwinn. Ironhorse never was an impressive brand but at times had some decent mountain bikes. We all see where Schwinn has gone. When Dorel bought them they assured dealers that there would be two distinct lines - one for department stores and one for bike shops. All you see now are the crappy ones at Target. the bike industry is kind of like the car industry was before things fell apart. Big companies buy up smaller companies and kill the what made the smaller companies cool. I don't really care about Ironhorse, but this latest development kind of shows that the claim that Cannondale will be better doesn't really hold water.
For that I say "Adios, amigo." When I was in high school I mowed lawns to save up for a Cannondale 2.8 frameset. I was proud of it because I'd seen pictures of the PA factory it was made in, not like the Diamondback mountain bike it was replacing. Now, no more.

The shoe is a joke! OK???
The Kazane collabo shoe is a total joke but a lot of people are apparently taking it seriously. I didn't think it was hard to tell that it's a grandpa shoe from Payless with my logos photoshopped on. I don't do sneakers. Never will. I do fast bikes.
